Image size select for cover block #42497

What problem does this address?
Since we are now able to use cover block for featured-image; one feature is still sorely missed: the ability to select image sizes.
Controlling image sizes is a must for performance and when we start using query grids with many cover images, this becomes a problem.
It's simple features like this that impact developer experience.
What is your proposed solution?
1 ) Add the image size select field to core/cover, similar as for core/image.
2 ) Make 'post-image' a core image size so we can control its size + crop in the admin Media Settings, or control it with php update_option() . This would benefit the featured-image block a lot, and subsequently solve the problem in this issue.
