Talk About a 'Bone Head': Brand Deniers!

This liberal lunatic starts off his piece by wanting to physically brand climate change 'deniers' and 'skeptics' the way that Nazis tatooed Jews during the Holocaust, an event in which many liberals these days no longer believe--secretly--happened, partly because they're Palestinian sympathizers who clandestinely loath Zionists, who are, ironically, very liberal in their politics. But, I digress. One is left wanting to ask (no pun intended) the question: Why does this author want to "Scarlet Letter" a group of people who question a semi-religious theory based on REAL scientific stipulations in which the alarmists simply dismiss (like this writer does)? What's the point of that? To make them targets of violence? To ostracize them? To make them targets of social discrimination and hate? This sort of thing isn't new when it comes to so-called deniers and the liberals who hate them.

You see, these climate alarmists are unhinged, left-learning people. The truly frightening part is that they're unaware that they're unhinged. This one starts off by wanting to DISCRIMINATE against a group of people based on their audacity to question the CONSENSUS. Branding human beings is a form of discrimination, but these liberals only accept discrimination when it fits their purposes, and then they attempt to hide their discrimination in new terminologies and paradigms to confuse the easily confusable among us.

On the other hand, these morons have NOT had their orthodoxy shaken one iota, even after all the countless scandals, empirical evidence, and scientific evidence to the contrary. All they have left is fear...and they continue trying to use it against the clueless masses.

Strange how the author is concerned about the planet we will leave our children and grandchildren while seemingly UNCONCERNED about the REAL, STINKING ECONOMY we're giving to them RIGHT NOW!!! And guess what? Green fad bull shit enacted for a trumped up lie WILL ONLY MAKE THE ECONOMY WORSE!!! But hey...that's what liberals wanted to cool the planet down, remember?

So how about they are forced to buy property on low-lying islands, the sort of property that will become worthless with a few more centimetres of ocean rise, so they are bankrupted by their own bloody-mindedness? Or what about their signed agreement to stand, in the year 2040, lashed to a pole at a certain point in the shallows off Manly? If they are right and the world is cooling - ''climate change stopped in the year 1998'' is one of their more boneheaded beliefs - their mouths will be above water. If not …

Oops: Coolest March since 1994

Doh! Here they are trying to blame the summer heat (and everything else) on global warming and this pesky story shows up.

March 2011 ended up as the coolest March globally since March of 1994. The actual global temperature anomaly for the lower troposphere last month was negative 0.026 C. This is also the first month since June of 2008 that the global temperature anomaly was in the negative.

Global Weirding? They Can't Back That Up

At first we were told that anthropogenic global warming was a result of man's CO2 emissions and that we'd see less and less snow and ice. Ice would melt and raise the sea levels, flooding cities. Then, when it was obvious that empirical data showed we were actually cooling more than warming, they said that dynamic weather variability was the result of manmade 'climate change.' Another group said that global warming was merely being 'masked' by the La Nina effect; that was why we were experiencing cooler summers and winters. Dynamic weather referred to anything deemed 'unusual,' such that a blizzard or freezing temperatures would give the same support to the renamed 'climate change' as a would a heat wave or tornado outbreak. I call these sudden grasps at explaining non-correlating empirical data CLIMATE REVISIONISM.

Somewhere in the midst of the mounting empirical evidence to the contrary, climate scandal upon climate scandal erupted. Interested powers tried to put the genie back in the bottle, but it was too late.

As the public continued to reject the idea of manmade global warming or climate change, Thulsa Doom Obama decided to go with the new moniker of 'global climate disruption.' And most recently, the term 'global weirding' came into vogue. No matter what alias they use, it still all comes down to an indictment of capitalism as the driving force behind a climate gone mad. Americans aren't buying it, and neither are Europeans. The rat radar is up and detecting something foul.

Last week a severe storm froze Dallas under a sheet of ice, just in time to disrupt the plans of the tens of thousands of (American) football fans descending on the city for the Super Bowl. On the other side of the globe, Cyclone Yasi slammed northeastern Australia, destroying homes and crops and displacing hundreds of thousands of people.

Some climate alarmists would have us believe that these storms are yet another baleful consequence of man-made CO2 emissions. In addition to the latest weather events, they also point to recent cyclones in Burma, last winter's fatal chills in Nepal and Bangladesh, December's blizzards in Britain, and every other drought, typhoon and unseasonable heat wave around the world.

But is it true? To answer that question, you need to understand whether recent weather trends are extreme by historical standards. The Twentieth Century Reanalysis Project is the latest attempt to find out, using super-computers to generate a dataset of global atmospheric circulation from 1871 to the present.

As it happens, the project's initial findings, published last month, show no evidence of an intensifying weather trend. "In the climate models, the extremes get more extreme as we move into a doubled CO2 world in 100 years," atmospheric scientist Gilbert Compo, one of the researchers on the project, tells me from his office at the University of Colorado, Boulder. "So we were surprised that none of the three major indices of climate variability that we used show a trend of increased circulation going back to 1871."

Obama Caught in Record Winter Storm

Another record-breaking winter (the last several winters have been extremely cold, icy, snowy, miserable, and deadly). These winters have followed cool summers too, though you'll always find a news story proclaiming whatever year it is to be 'the hottest ever.' Yet, the liberal indoctrinators continue the hue and cry about climate "denialists," even after numerous climatology scandals and empirical evidence surface to demonstrate the complete, utter failure and dishonesty of manmade global warming theory and its proponents. The boondoggle has been exposed long ago.

Of course, the global warming alarmists, the faithful, and the zealots will continue to say that the record cold PROVES global warming is real. Just like record heat PROVES global warming. Record ANYTHING to them PROVES global warming. It’s all bullshit. Empirical data proves nothing except that this is one muddy picture, and that’s just the way alarmists like it. Bitterly cold air will remain over northern Maine through Monday night, forcing temperatures down below zero with negative double-digit wind chill values.

It sounds like the plot of an apocalyptic action movie, but scientists with the U.S. Geological Survey warned federal and state emergency officials that California's geological history shows such "superstorms" have happened in the past, and should be added to the long list of natural disasters to worry about in the Golden State.

The threat of a cataclysmic California storm has been dormant for the past 150 years. Geological Survey director Marcia K. McNutt told the New York Times that a 300-mile stretch of the Central Valley was inundated from 1861-62. The floods were so bad that the state capital had to be moved to San Francisco, and Governor Leland Stanford had to take a rowboat to his own inauguration, the report notes. Even larger storms happened in past centuries, over the dates 212, 440, 603, 1029, 1418, and 1605, according to geological evidence.

The risk is gathering momentum now, scientists say, due to rising temperatures in the atmosphere, which has generally made weather patterns more volatile.

Lawmakers Seek to Stop Climate Probe as ‘Significant Error’ Revealed

Interesting to see these two stories on the same day. On one hand (continuing the recent, lengthy series of scandal-ridden ‘scientific’ revelations), activist climatologists are forced (again) to admit their errors that, of course, originally erred on the side of supporting manmade warming. On the other hand, activist politicians are trying to block efforts by other politicians to investigate just such scandals, perpetrated by just such activist scientists.

But we’re supposed to still believe this nonsense amid all of the scandals and empirical evidence to the contrary or risk being labeled as ‘deniers’ or some other equally silly social insult. Amazing how this group is able to set the agenda for what’s politically correct in terms of childish name-calling.

WASHINGTON (AFP) – A climate change study that projected a 2.4 degree Celsius increase in temperature and massive worldwide food shortages in the next decade was seriously flawed, scientists said Wednesday.

The study was posted on the website of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and was written about by numerous international news agencies, including AFP.
But AAAS later retracted the study as experts cited numerous errors in its approach.

"A reporter with The Guardian alerted us yesterday to concerns about the news release submitted by Hoffman & Hoffman public relations," said AAAS spokeswoman Ginger Pinholster in an email to AFP.

"We immediately contacted a climate change expert, who confirmed that the information raised many questions in his mind, too. We swiftly removed the news release from our Web site and contacted the submitting organization."

RICHMOND, Va. - A power struggle is unfolding in Virginia over climate change research.
Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has been taking the University of Virginia to court to get information on a climate change researcher who once worked at the school.

Now several members of the State Assembly say they've had enough and have introduced legislation to rein in Cuccinelli's investigation.

Cuccinelli, a global warming skeptic, is looking into whether UVA professor Michael Mann manipulated data to show that there has been a rapid, recent rise in the Earth's temperature.

By the year 3000, global warming would be more than a hot topic - the West Antarctic ice sheet could collapse, and global sea levels would rise by about 13 feet (4 meters), according to a new study.

Using a computer model, researchers looked at two scenarios - an end to humans' industrial carbon dioxide emissions by 2010 and by 2100 - stretched out to the year 3000.

Even if humans were to stop emitting excess carbon dioxide - or if they figured out a way to completely capture it - the effects of global warming would continue to accumulate. He takes a snapshot of what the Sun is doing at any given moment, and then he looks back at the record to see when it last did something similar. Then he checks what the weather was like on Earth at the time - and he makes a prophecy.

Dec 2010, Cancun: Temps Drop to 100-yr Low!

Empirically Frigid February

If colder-than-normal temperatures continue into February, this winter could possibly set records for the coldest winter ever in some parts of Georgia. Record low temperatures were set at Macon, Savannah and Alma Jan. 14. Macon reported 16 degrees, breaking the old record of 19 degrees set that date in 1970. Savannah and Alma reported 18 degrees, surpassing the old records of 20 degrees set at both locations in 1964.

The fresh snow was especially troublesome in Tulsa, Okla., where many roads were still impassable from last week's record 14-inch snowfall. The previous storm kept students out of school for at least six days. Mail, bus and trash service were only recently restored.

Average 2010 Temp 1 Deg Below "Normal"

Amazing. NOAA (and their buddies at NASA) always try to play the manmade climate change game, but read the last paragraph too. I've bolded the most interesting parts.

The main culprit behind the cold temperatures in December 2010 was the same one which caused the cold winter of 2009-2010; a strongly negative North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and Arctic Oscillation (AO). When these atmospheric oscillations are in the strong negative phase, they essentially “flip” the weather pattern across North America, with upper-level high pressure and relative warmth over Greenland and Northeastern Canada and upper-level low pressure and cold over the eastern Continental United States, including Florida (Figure 1). This pattern forces the jet stream to plunge south from northern Canada into the southeastern U.S., transporting Arctic air masses into Florida.

As mentioned above, South Florida experienced its hottest summer on record in 2010 (with the exception of Naples which recorded its second hottest recorded summer). Despite the record hot summer, average yearly temperatures at the main climate sites will end up around 1 degree below normal, which will be the coolest calendar year since the early and mid 1980s, and among the top 10 on record (except for Miami). At secondary sites Miami Beach and Moore Haven, it was the coolest year on record (please note caveat below table).

Ten Ships Trapped in Arctic Sea Ice

Oh yeah...that arctic sea ice certainly is disappearing at an alarming rate. Tell that to these poor souls.

Rescue efforts are under way to evacuate more than 600 crew on 10 ships trapped in ice in the Sea of Okhotsk.

The ice is up to 30cm (12 inches) thick in some places, according to the Russian news agency Itar-Tass.

Signals are reported to have been received from a fishing boat and a research vessel which are in the greatest distress, stuck in the ice about 12 miles (19km) from the coast.

The sea rescue centre says three tugboats have been dispatched.

Syracuse has met the incomprehensible. As of Tuesday, even before winter had officially begun — at 6:38 p.m. Eastern time — 71.9 inches of snow had fallen this month, making it the city’s snowiest December on record.

The snow will likely continue across metro Atlanta through Saturday night before ending Sunday morning.

"Across the north Georgia mountains, the precipitation should fall as snow the entire time, allowing 2 to 4 inch accumulations there," Nitz said.

In a statement issued early Thursday, the National Weather Service predicted that 1 to 3 inches of snow could fall across metro Atlanta, with accumulations of an inch or less south of the city.

Winter is already in full swing in the Colorado high country as a WINTER STORM WARNING remains in effect through Tuesday night for nearly all mountain areas in Colorado, which could see 12 to 36 inches of snow.

The mountains surrounding Vail, Aspen, Snowmass, Crested Butte, Telluride and Silverton should see 1 to 3 feet of snow by Tuesday evening with the heaviest snow on west-facing slopes.

Swathes of Britain skidded to a halt today as the big freeze returned - grounding flights, closing rail links and leaving traffic at a standstill.

And tonight the nation was braced for another 10in of snow and yet more sub-zero temperatures - with no let-up in the bitterly cold weather for at least a month, forecasters have warned.

The Arctic conditions are set to last through the Christmas and New Year bank holidays and beyond and as temperatures plummeted to -10c (14f) the Met Office said this December was ‘almost certain’ to become the coldest since records began in 1910.

At least 60 people have died across Europe during the current cold snap, as snow plagued transport in Britain on Friday and serious flooding prompted mass evacuations in the Balkans.

Seventeen people died in Central Europe in the last 24 hours from the cold, bringing the total this week to 45. A further 11 died in Russia, plus three in France and one in Germany, according to local authorities.

Journalists Were Once Ultimate Skeptics

Not any more. "Journalists" are advocates for liberal causes; they don't question shit. Look at all the ignored climate scandals. Look at all the empirical evidence (i.e., cold) that prompted the language shift from "global warming" to "climate change" and then, finally, "global climate disruption" (Obama's minions). The fact that so many "smart" people can't see through this crap is truly fascinating.

Well, you must be wrong because Fox News Washington Bureau Chief Bill Sammon is getting a raft of garbage from liberal activists masquerading as journalists at Media Matters, some liberal bloggers and a scattering of real journalists who ought to know better.

Why? Politico’s headline captures the controversy perfectly: “Fox editor urged climate skepticism.”

A journalist being skeptical? Who would ever have thought such a thing could be. I don’t know, maybe anybody who has heard this (attributed long ago to a crusty desk editor at the illustrious City News Bureau in Chicago): “If your mother tells you she loves you, check it out.”

In other words, we journalists are paid to BE SKEPTICAL.

NOAA and Old Farmer's Almanac Duel

So who's going to be right? Will NOAA's warming-centric prediction--one that has been increasingly WRONG--hold true for the winter, or will the Old Farmer's Almanac (80-85% accuracy) win the day with its colder-than-normal winter? We've seen how NOAA has blown it over the past several years; the world has had DEADLY COLD winters since 2008, even though NOAA, NASA, and other AGW proponents of the "consensus" tried to prop up "warmest <fill-in-the-blank> on record" claims. All of this while story upon story touted record cold and winter events in China, Russia, United States, and many other places around the world.

Here's my prediction: OFA wins by a mile!

2010 Cyclone Season Marks 33-Year LOW

Ever since Katrina in 2005 (a devastating hurricane season for sure), climatologists and various authorities on tropical weather have predicted "stronger than average" hurricane seasons. While the Atlantic season did appear active this year, no major storms hit the United States, even though there have been no shortage of cyclonic doom predictions since Katrina.

AccuWeather predicted the United States would be hit by five named storms in 2010; it didn't happen. And AccuWeather is one of these groups that peddles global warming nonsense. Previous seasonal predictions since 2005 have also failed to materialize.

And the oft blamed culprit for these dire predictions that don't materialize? You guessed it: manmade global warming.

The only problem with these silly (failed) predictions is that Mother Nature didn't cooperate, once again proving that our climate is enormously complex and still capable of baffling the so-called smartest among us.

Update: Current Year-to-Date analysis of Northern Hemisphere and Global Tropical Cyclone Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE) AND Power Dissipation Index (PDI) has fallen even further than during the previous 3-years. The global inactivity is at 33-year lows and historical where Typhoons form in the Western Pacific.

While the North Atlantic has seen 15 tropical storms / hurricanes of various intensity, the Pacific basin as a whole is at historical lows! In the Western North Pacific stretching from Guam to Japan and the Philippines and China, the current ACE value of 48 is the lowest seen since reliable records became available (1945) and is 78% below normal*. The next lowest was an ACE of 78 in 1998. See figure below for visual evidence of the past 40-years of tropical cyclone activity.
