Itou Kanako opened the show for GARNiDELiA with Hacking to the Gate from Steins;Gate in Seattle for Sakura-Con. The crowd was instantly pumped!
Itou is famous for singing a lot of the Nitro+ theme songs, from the visual novel to the anime. I first heard her beautiful voice singing F.D.D. for the anime Chaos;Head.

Sakura-Con 2015 Cosplay
Sakura-Con is always a good convention for creative and amazing cosplay! A great place to take photos of great cosplay. Though perhaps it's better if the photographer isn't so busy being in lines or isn't too shy either ^^; I took my share of cosplay, but as I've mentioned it was quite busy that I didn't take as much as I'd like to. Here is just a sample of what was seen at this year's Sakura-Con.

GARNiDELiA at Sakura-Con 2015
When MARiA and toku combine forces they become the super group GARDiNELiA! It was an honour to have the opportunity to hear their stories, met them in person, and listen to them live in concert! Like most fans, I first heard GARNiDELiA when they sang the second opening of KILL la KILL, ambiguous. I immediately fell in love and bought their first album, Linkage Ring. At that time, when I ordered the album, Sakura-Con haven't announced their major guests yet; so, of course, GARNiDELiA was to be one of their first Japanese guests of honor!

Anime Revolution 2014 Loot
So a month after Anime Revolution, I finally post the stuff I bought from there X3 Yes, I made the same face as the tako on the left! These octopi/takos were the first thing I bought at the convention. My quest was trying to help a friend get $10 bills for change in her artist alley booth XD So I found a few random things where I can get small change!

Anime Revolution 2014
Another Revolution ends and time for a post-convention blog post! Last week, on August 22nd to 24th, was Vancouver's Anime Revolution at Canada Place Convention Centre. I went on revolutionary one cosplay per day con! One was a failure, one was pretty fun, and one was secret. But it was a mostly fun convention, cosplay or not, especially going around with friends.

Birthday of Ayanami 2014(ish)
It's time for Ayanami Rei's birthday again! March 30th is not only Ayanami Rei's birthday, but also her seiyuu's, Hayashibara Megumi! AND on top of that, it's also Kawasumi Ayako's birthday! Such a special day! :D Two of my favourite seiyuus' birthdays in one day.
Sadly, it's been a very depressing and hectic week for me, so I didn't have time to take any new photos of Rei. Good thing is I finally posted my photos from last year's Pacific Northwest Ball-Jointed Doll Expo (or PNWBJD Expo for short, which is still not that short).

Anime Revolution 2013
On August 16th to 18th, I attended one of the anime conventions in Vancouver. This one took place at Canada Place Convention Centre. I was looking forward to this convention and was not disappointed! I am blogging about it way too late though ^^; It has been over a month since it happened. Regardless! It was a draft with the photos posted in my blog and I intend to finish it!

Anime Revolution 2013 Cosplay
Another convention come and gone. This time it was the local Vancouver anime convention, Anime Revolution 2013! I've been really procrastinating with my posts, so it's rather inconsistent to post AR cosplay before AX, but I'll get around to it soon... Hopefully ^^;; The above cosplay is Gumi and Rin from one of the Vocaloid videos. The title of the video escapes me unfortunately.
This year showed a lot of cosplay, and it seems Vancouver finally caught up to the latest with the huge amount of Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan cosplay! As a Vancouver anime fan, I am happy with this city! Though I didn't get to take too many photos this year and not quite sure why. Maybe I'm getting shy again?

AX 2013 Loot
I finally returned to Vancouver after a long two weeks trip to southern California for AX and other touristy things! So now I can finally post some photos. Looks like the loot will be up first this time around. I tried hard not to buy too many things at the convention because I knew it was going to be difficult to bring it back in my luggage. I limited myself to small skinny things ^^;;
First up are two things I posted on my Instagram already: The Misaka Mikoto towel and the Ayanami Rei bag (which is actually Eva X Hello Kitty). The rest is a Vocaloid clear file, a Yuru Yuri mirror (from when preordering Yuru Yuri from NISA) and a Railgun microfiber towel.

Sakura-Con 2013 Cosplay
Ahhh... Finally gotten around to posting Sakura-Con photos ^^;;; It's been two months since Sakura-Con finished... Oh well, better too late than never, right? Sakura-Con took place from March 29th to March 31st.
Anyway, the first photo is Takanashi Rikka from Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai. More cosplayers under the cut. If you're one of the cosplayers and don't want these posted on my blog or if you'd like a copy of your photo, just let me know via email and I'll try to fulfill your request as soon as possible.

Anime Revolution 2012 Swimsuit Competition
Anime Revolution's Swimsuit Contest was one of the highlights of the conventions for the 18+ crowd. It was quite the no-holds-barred event on Friday night. Lots of innuendos and sexiness! Might be a bit ecchi since this was an 18+ event!

First Fan Expo in Vancouver
Fan Expo has arrived in Vancouver! Though it is now come and gone when this is posted ^^; Fan Expo have always been one of the biggest combined geekery convention in Canada, but usually only in Toronto. This year it came to Vancouver. I'm hoping the title of my post become "The First Annual Fan Expo in Vancouver", but judging from how successful the turnout was it won't be a surprise if it doesn't happen again next year.

Sakura Con 2012 Acquisitions
What's a convention without getting some stuff to buy to bring home, right? The strangest part about this loot is the fact that I didn't buy any shirts! This doesn't happen very often! I usually get at least one shirt from a convention... But maybe I just remember that I have too many already as it is... Oh also, that Durarara manga is a freebie and I forgot to take more photos of it. So this is the only time you'll see it :P Ah and pardon the quality of some of the photos. When I took the photos I thought they looked good enough on the display, little did I know I didn't have enough lighting for some ^^;

Obitsu at Sakura Con 2012
When the president of your favourite doll company is invited to Sakura Con as a special guest, you tend to want to go... So I did. He is Obitsu Saburo, the President of Obitsu Company, a company that is 100% made in Japan! All the design and manufacturing are made in eastern Tokyo in Japan.

Sakura Con 2012 Coverage
It was quite an amazing weekend at Sakura Con despite the rough early mornings I had to go through to get there and back. This time around, it was a different experience. I had a press badge which was quite handy for some events and had some privileges attached to it, but there was also a responsibility of reporting the events and quickly rolling out articles such as the interview with Urobuchi Gen et al.

An Interview with Urobuchi Gen, Ota Katsushi and Iwakami Atsushiro

Despite the late notice and late start of the press conference, the other press members and I were able to get quite a lot of information directly from the source. We took turns with the eight members of the press that were there, asking questions to all three or sometimes only to Urobuchi. Those present were from SUTORAIKU Anime, Radiant Dreamer, Japan-A-Radio, The-O Network Online, and Sankaku Complex. Questions and answers were translated by Karahashi Takayuki.

Sakura Con 2012 Cosplay
Jump for joy because tis the first post of my Sakura Con 2012 trip! :D I always like to do the cosplay photos first because there are just so many of them! Plus it's easy to post. I should've taken some more days off from work so I can actually do these posts ^^; ANYWAY... Let's get this show on the road! First of all the photo above is another photographer requesting this Ranka to do a jump. I was able to steal a photo as she was jumping ^^

New Camera and Sakura Con Trip
I've been meaning to get a new camera for a while. I wasn't really looking for a DSLR, but the opportunity came up to get one. Of course, the reason I'm getting one is because I am going to Sakura-Con 2012 in Seattle in a week's time (April 6-8, 2012).
