Inky Paws Challenge - Week 4!

 Happy Monday!

It's week 4 of the Newton's Nook Designs

Inky Paws Challenge.

Image

Here is the color inspiration photo:

Image

Earlier this month, I created a card using small scraps

of cardstock and these are the continued leftovers!

I really love trying to find a use for the pieces

instead of throwing them away

so this was a definitely a creative process.

Image

I glued the strips together onto white cardstock

and then stamped Dainty Daisies clear stamp

onto the cardstock with white ink.

I die cut it out using the coordinating die

including a second 'branch' which I tucked behind.

I popped it up on a vellum circle die cut and classic back and white card,

die cut with the Basic Frames die set.

I got back from a trip and ended up sick

(nothing like a souvenier!)

so I added a quick sentiment to turn this into a Get Well Card.

The sentiment stamp is from Naughty Newton.

Here is the card the extra strips were from

This is Holiday Post clear stamp set and matching outline die.

Image

I started with a base card using Christmas Party paper pad 6 x 6

and love how it's versatile enough for the holidays and birthdays!

Inky Paws Challenge - Week 2

 Hi friends!

I'm back with week 2 of the Newton's Nook Designs

Inky Paws Challenge for November.

This month, the challenge features a wonderful sketch ~

a great springboard idea for your cardmaking!

Image

I once again used these fun products from NND

to create a bright, cheerful birthday card.

I had fun with this one!

Here is the monthly November challenge:  sketch

Image

And my card:

Image

I started with Newton' Nook Designs

Sky High Celebrations stamp and die set

stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink

and colored with my prismacolor markers.

I used the festive Christmas Party 6 x 6 paper pad

for my base and flipped the paper 'inside out' to create a duel look!

This is a great hack if you have a double sided paper

and want to use BOTH pretty sides!

But, you will see 2 of each design in the 24 paper pack.

To create the 'flip side', I used the A2 Card Layout die

and finally popped up the for dimension.

Finally,

The inside of the card holds a special message:

Happy Birthday!

3M: I'm FELINE meow-tivated!

Hi friends!

I have a new card to share with you on the start of a fresh week

and I'm FELINE meow-tivated to craft!

Image

I love LOVE puns and fun play on words

and this one from Newton's Nook is no exception :)

This is my card for the 3M (3 Musketeers) card group

which is Barb, Jeanette and myself.

We have been crafting together with the 3M since November 2014!

Here we go!

We create a card based on the same image.

1 image = 3 different takes!

This month, Barb was the hostess and sent us this adorable

Newton's Nook Crafty Cardio which I just think is so stinkin' cute!

I really wanted to use the crafting is my cardio sentiment

but my die cut slipped so feline meow-tivated it is!

Image

Going forward, my cards will be on my blog (and my Instagram)

and I have a catch up post on 2023's 3M creations as well!

Be sure to stop in Barb's blog and Jeanette's blog

to see what they have created this month.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of love,

Kelly

Thanks for 'sticking' by me!

Hi friends!

I'm late, I'm late ~
for a very important date!

The 3M card group posting date was s'posed to be on the 9th of the month
but there were too many sticks to fetch,
too many holes to dig in the backyard,
and too many shoes to chew!

But!
Thanks for stickin' by me!

Image

I love dogs so very much
and we are blessed to have two!
Buddy and Buster ~ Jack Russell Terriers, already old men at ages 11 and 10.
Buddy is our JRT that's white with lemon colored spots and is my shadow.
My sweet boy follows me all through the house and has to be right next to me ~
but I don't mind one. single. bit!

Back to my card ~ this month, the image showcased is Newton's Nook Designs
and it's called Puppy Pals.

Image

I'm only 1/3 of the 3 Musketeers and
Barb and Jeanette have already posted their 3M cards on their blogs.
The sentiment inside of my card ~ thanks for sticking by me!

Image

I spent most of the evening making a ton of cards ~
some upcoming design team cards and one set of cards for a friend,
one set just goofin' off and experimenting and playing around with inks, etc.
Fun times!
Thanks so much for stopping by ~
Have a pawsome Saturday!

Big hugs, bigger blessings!

DDD: You're the bees knees!

 Hello friends!

You're the bees knees!

Today is the day the Dueling Darlings card group post our cards
with a chosen theme by the hostesses:
which is Jeanette and I.
We chose a theme of Humorous!

Image

I had to ad-lib a little on the humor part
and this is more PUN-NY than FUNNY :)

The DDD Card group is 2 teams:  The Divas and The Dazzlers.
We chose the theme and I created card kits for the Divas
and Jeanette created kits for the Dazzlers.
And on the 15th, we reveal our card kits and see what each of us has made!

Image

For my card today, I used Newton's Nook Winston's Honeybees.
i chose this one as it had several different punny sentiments
and would make a cute card!
I paired it with papers from Pebbles 'Family Ties'
and just dies/a frame to create the backdrop for Winston.

And that's it for this month's round of the Dueling Darlings!
You can see the other team mates cards by
stopping in to the thread at Splitcoaststampers under Dueling Darlings :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

CYS: Happy National Hamburger Day!

 Hi friends!

Today is National Hamburger Day!

The wonderful thing about summer is ...... grilling outdoors!
We're pretty lucky that we get to grill year round here in South Florida ~
which is good since I LOVE fruits and vegetables on the grill!!
My husband and son-in-law know the way to my heart
is with Starbucks
is with fresh vegetables like squash, eggplant, zucchini and asparagus
grilled 'til it's pipping hot!

I won't actually partake in hamburger day literally,
I'm happy to get a card created for the CYS card challenge group!
The theme, from our hostess Jeanette, is
include a hamburger or some other food on your card.

Oh boy!
I had to search and search through my stash for anything hamburger
related and even missed it on my first run through.
Alas, I remembered my Newton's Nook 'Winston's BBQ' stamp set
from my guest designer spot and it has ......

a hamburger!

Image

Even better ........
my son-in-laws Father's Day card is now complete!
I'm pretty sure he doesn't read my blog, tee hee!
but just in case, I won't spoil the inside of my card - yet :)

Image

This theme must be popular ~
you'll see it twice this week on my blog for card challenges.
Stay tuned later this week for more hamburger/grilling fun!

 Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥
~Kelly

CCEE: You're the em-BOSS!

Hi friends and Happy Thursday ...... I think!

Heavens to Betsy,  I love me a 3 day weekend
but I can't for the of me remember what day it is!
I ran around all day today thinking it was Tuesday!

The CCEE Stampers this week have our final challenge with our hostess, Anne.
She asked us to create a card using embossing folders.
That's not a crafty element I use very often, if ever :)
I remembered I picked up 3 new embossing folder/stamp combo packs
at Michaels, one being a cactus folder/stamp ♥

Image

I am so in love with succulents!
I have been going crazy for succulent stamps ~
anything with a cactus, potted plants, monstera leaves ♥
Naturally, this background called for a cactus so I used my
Newton's Nook Cuppa Cactus stamps and dies
and colored it with my Zig clean brush markers.
Then, I heat embossed the funny coffee sentiment from the set.
I added a few colorful enamel dots and then let the card be ~
showcasing the embossing folder!

Image

I'm not a big fan of embossing folders
but I have to give props where they are due :)
These are not big 'name brand' embossing folders but definitely do the trick!
The responded very well to both #65 and #110 cardstock
and the stamps are an added little bonus.
I paid $1.10 in store (love those coupons!) awhile back
but they are online right now for $1.oo.
I bought 3 planning to do an review on my YouTube channel ..
stay tuned!

To see what the rest of the CCEE Stampers created,
stop by the blog ~ you'll be im'pressed' ...
hee hee!
 Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥
~Kelly

I'll enter this into the Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Hop!

It's feeling like Summer! ♥

It's almost Summer!
My son finished school yesterday and the girls have one more week -
I can't wait! ♥

Even though we head to the beach quite a bit,
It's just "feels" different when school is out!
That's one of the first places we'll be!

It's mid-way inspiration time at the Newton's Nook Designs
challenge #10 for this week.
The challenge is to use metal and/or cork and/or wood!

I was inspired by our outings over the Memorial Day weekend
and created a beachy card using the "SEAson's Greetings" stamp set
and "Around the House" - both available in the shop!

Image

Image

For my card, I used a wooden arrow and faux cork paper as the sandy
backdrop - stamped and cut out the little crab and stamped the fishes
directly onto the paper, too.

Image

We'd love it if you play along, too!
Even if you don't have any NND stamps, there are freebies available!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!
