    To be clear, I am not against AI. I am very optimistic about AI. AI is doing amazing things. My entire career is in AI, as was my PhD. What I am against is irrational overselling and overhype about AI, which has turned into a dumb tech religion and borderline scam.

    My thesis against AI hype is not that AI won't utterly transform humanity in this century... It's simply that it will take longer to do so, than the current mantra of ultra tech optimism suggests.

    It's funny how much AI Twitter fiercely debates whether we have "AGI" or not. I personally dislike the buzzword and don't think it fits well. But even if we say Claude Fable and GPT-5.6 Sol are "AGI" - it's just an arbitrary label that materially changes nothing. We'll still
