    I'm tired and sıck of people saying: “the book was better than the movie.” Give me a movie that was actually WAY BETTER than the book. I want to know which books were so bad that Hollywood had to save them.

    It's so hard not to anthropomorphize AI. Reward hacking feels like getting someone to understand something when their salary depends on not understanding it. Is that right? Or should we understand these as alien intelligences that require radical new ways of understanding?

    What does the former co-lead of interpretability at Deepmind and now co-founder of @GoodfireAI think about how to keep AI from becoming (his words) "a generally evil guy"? I got to speak with @banburismus_ at @spc the day after OpenAI announced the Hugging Face hack. Good

    My favorite capture of the night: The moment the moon's shadow split the sunset in half, leaving a diamond ring in the sky and a breathtaking view. I call it "Shadows on the Balearic Sea". I'll have prints available for this one linked in my bio for a few days only.
