    Deeply saddened to hear about losing a baseball great & profound human being. Im a rookie, get severely injured in my 3rd MLB start. Walt comes under tunnel for the exam, sees my pain & starts to shed tears with me. No business being there, let alone caring. He showed up-RIP WJ

    Thanks @SamBlum3 for taking the time to write about PCHS , my Alma mater. I played for Mike Voelkel and the bonds forged over 16 years ago have withstood the test of time. Proud of these boys. A true testament to the power of sport and the culture of this group of young men.

    The Palisades HS baseball team can't play on its home field. The fire badly damaged their school. Several players' homes were destroyed. But for the last week, they've hosted players-only practices in a public park. Getting ready for their season. Read: nytimes.com/athletic/60957…
