A judge writes what many of us have been saying for years: the ncaa created this “chaos” and is not above the law. The ncaa chose a litigation or bust strategy. And got busted. Rinse and repeat.

Judge Sweeney reminds the NCAA it has to comply with antitrust law. And also states the NCAA’s “business judgment gave rise” to both the Court’s finding that the plaintiffs will succeed on their antitrust claim and to “exactly the ‘chaos’ about which the NCAA now complains.”

Lack of support from the CBC killed the SCORE Act in the House. Would the same happen to the Protect College Score Act in the House without CBC support? Probably.

Exactly👇 As Scott does a great job of summarizing, the NCAA has made bad decision after bad decision with respect to governing college athletics. It’s why things are the way they are. Why would anyone take its advice on legislation that no one has even seen?

NCAA, conferences and universities: is this your leader?? Talking about your students like this? You’re ok with this??

Charlie Baker calling them “failed professionals” is gross language. One, these athletes are fighting to be in college to better themselves. Two, for the last decade or so the NCAA has put PR rhetoric about how hard it is to be a successful pro athlete. 🤮
