    a decent metaphor for all this stuff is nonproliferation research spent decades getting very good at “left of boom” while refusing to build coherent theories of “right of boom,” ie the world after deterrence fails we're roughly in the same place with "right of winning AGI"

    it seems likely that the frontier labs begin to look like chaebols/diversified conglomerates as the only practical way to hill climb long duration / not immediately verifiable tasks is to own the operating companies yourself and run them as firm-scale-rl-envs

    Wow, seems like Google is buying Spirit Airlines' enterprise data for $10m (outbidding Mercor at $7.5m). Basically includes every internal document, email, workflow, and codebase for a once $6B company. Honestly, $10m for 34 years of operational data really seems like a steal.
