Asymmetric septal hypertrophy (ASH) is often viewed as a hallmark of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This study shows that while ASH (wall thickness ≥15 mm; septal/lateral ratio ≥1.3) is more common in HCM, it is not specific and is prevalent across diverse cardiac conditions.
