    BREAKING: The Patriot League Council of Presidents Executive Committee has denied Villanova's eligibility appeal for quarterback Pat McQuaide. McQuaide’s attorney, Richard Hamilton Jr., and another source confirmed the news to me and @bydylanjohnson:

    NEW: The NCAA filed a brief in opposition, contending that the Patriot League is a "separate entity from the NCAA." As the conference was not "served process and is not a defendant," the NCAA is contending Pat McQuaide's motion to clarify is not applicable to the Patriot. Text:

    NEW: The attorney of Villanova QB Patrick McQuaide has filed a Notice of Supplemental Authority with the Ohio court taking up the case yesterday. McQuaide is looking for an expedited ruling from the court. Villanova starts its season on Aug 28. From the notice:
