I am having trouble reproducing this issue. When I compiled ohttp-gateway on stable rust 1.90 on windows, I got the following error.

error[E0464]: multiple candidates for rlib dependency hyper found

Note that ohttp-gateway specifies two different versions for hyper, one in [dependencies], and one in [dev-dependencies].

I'm confused on how it compiled on stable in crater in the first place. Is there some odd setup I need?

Edit: I'm told that it compiles on stable in Linux? Weird.......

This does compile on stable on Linux, and ICEs on beta, but if you remove everything but the two conflicting deps, it does give the error about duplicated rlib's, both on stable and beta:

My guess is: There's a preexisting bug in stable that fails to detect duplicate rlibs, but only in some conditions, and not on windows. This bug was previously hidden, and manifested as an ICE on beta due to some additional check performed.
