My 2cents in this who is living in blr and who has lived in chennai for 5 years. Chennai’s biggest issues is its not hospitable at start. When i first came to chennai it felt like a state where the way if life is too different and local opportunist people made it worse. As i learnt tamil i started appreciating the state but blr is much more hospitable to north indians.

Also chennai has a lot of advantages over blr like crazy food scene, insane connectivity and ofc beach but again the IT crowd expects partying and its not that fire in chennai.

So we cant keep saying “if you hate it so much dont cone here” and make sure people feel happy even if its one person he should feel happy after exiting our city

Biggest problem in chennai in my opinion for people working in IT has to be PG scene here. Its straight up horrendous and for flats these guys ask 1L deposit which is crazy and yube1/stanza charge 1.5k-2k for electricity by adding commercial meter which is annoying asf 😑 other then that i feel chennai food is really amazing and city would work for you once you start speaking tamil

I feel judging so quickly is wrong. What if the guys were freshly employed. Tamil is one of the oldest languages and hence is hard. I’m just saying the atmosphere can be lightened. People should pick up language on their pace. Otherwise this is also imposition on tamil and imposition of any thing is wrong

I find this very weird because this is exactly what a north indian goes through on a daily basis. I feel we as people should create a medium where tamil can be picked up by north indians according to their pace. Like in bengaluru we have QR codes in road where people have made apps to learn kannada. Hindi is not somebody’s enemy we should know little bit of that as well because knowing english is again privilege. As of now everybody i know is learning tamil out of need but not curiosity and that i dont think is good culture propagation.
