AI Statement

Updated March 17, 2026

Dear Scriptation Nation,

Since 2016, Scriptation has built tools that help film and television professionals save time and work more efficiently. We launched by solving one of the industry’s most time-consuming challenges: transferring notes through script revisions. That innovation earned Scriptation a Primetime Engineering Emmy®.

The same mindset continues to guide how we approach new developments, including AI. Scriptation’s core features are built by our engineering team, and as AI capabilities continue to evolve, we believe it is important to be transparent about how they are used, how they may appear in our product, and how user data is handled.

Our approach to AI is guided by the following principles:

Build tools that increase efficiency without compromising creativity.
We approach AI the same way we approach all product development at Scriptation: as a way to help users work more efficiently while supporting, not replacing, the people doing the work.

Keep users in control.
Where AI-related capabilities are introduced, they will be clearly identified and designed to give users meaningful clarity and control over how they interact with them. At this time, AI-related tools are not available to Studio and Enterprise end users.

Stay aligned with the industry we serve.
As a company founded by a WGA member and built for creative professionals, we are attentive to the policies, expectations, and concerns of the industries we support. We monitor relevant guild, union, studio, and industry developments as AI continues to evolve.

Protect user data and maintain transparency.
We are committed to strong standards for privacy and security, and we work with partners that meet those standards. We are also committed to transparency around how AI-related tools work, how data is handled, and where data is stored. Scriptation does not use user documents to train external AI models.

Listen and respond to feedback.
AI is evolving quickly, and so are the conversations around it. We welcome feedback, questions, and ideas from our community, and we believe listening to that feedback is essential to building tools that are useful, responsible, and aligned with real-world creative workflows.

We recognize that we are in a unique position to help shape how new technologies fit into creative work. Our intention is to approach AI the same way we have always approached product development at Scriptation: thoughtfully, responsibly, and in service of the people doing the work.
