NYC*BUG Social this evening. Hope everyone is having a good start to 2026. As crazy as things are out there.

I know how I will be spending New Years Day: catching up on the 2nd edition of @mwl 's Networking for System Administrators. Wishing you all a lovely 2026.

@EuroBSDCon @bhyvecon

And we had some *BSD ink walk in... literally. A good night had by all.

Conference streaming tweak/idea. At the @openzfs User/Dev summit I added an audience participation "talking head" large TV for an open discussion segment and I was happy with how it went. Video conference attendees from the other side of the planet had much smoother realtime interactions with the people in the room. Room mics were fed into their audio stream (with zero delay) and the video conference audio would go either through the room PA for general discussion or was available on a little boombox for breakout sessions. I was happy with the results. While I think it would be too disruptive for conference talks, for the open discussions of Dev summits, I think it is ideal.

The @EuroBSDCon hallway track: where you can learn that the Puffy Pair ring exists!

Look who I saw in the Hallway track yesterday! Groff, back from Holiday and making an appearance @EuroBSDCon

We have all seen the cover of @mwl 's , but if you haven't grabbed a copy yet, give the back cover a look. If you are in tech and the "This is what Joe Strummer trained you for " meme struck a chord; then this book is for you.
