StudioSlot Free 1.0.1 does not include payments, calendar sync, SMS, or importing. The separate StudioSlot Pro add-on is available for staff schedules, private appointment notes, and optional email reminders. Free remains usable without Pro.

Can I use StudioSlot Free for a real salon today?

I work alone. Do I need “staff”?

Add yourself as the only staff member. Every booking request comes straight to you.

Can I add a second stylist or a larger team?

Yes. StudioSlot’s free version includes unlimited staff. Add every professional under StudioSlot > Staff, check off who does which services, and they become bookable on the form.
There is no paid upgrade required to add another staff member.
There is no importer. You add services and staff in StudioSlot yourself. Leave your other plugin installed until you are ready to change the Book Now page.

Does it take payments?

No. Client payments and deposits are not included in StudioSlot Free or the current Pro release. You can review booking requests or use auto-confirm, and collect payment separately through your existing process.

Do you sync Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?

Can I import my Amelia / Bookly / Simply Schedule Appointments data?

StudioSlot Free 1.0.1 has no importer or migration tool. Add your services and staff, set hours, and place
[studioslot]on a page. Separate assisted Pro migration work is limited to a reviewed rehearsal on a protected copy; there is no public one-click importer or automatic production cutover. Keep your source system and backup intact. -
Do my clients need an account to book?

No. They enter their name, email, and phone — that’s it.

My email notifications aren’t arriving. What’s wrong?

Check your WordPress mail configuration and spam folders. An SMTP plugin connected to a working mail service can improve delivery. Send a test and confirm it reaches the intended inbox; WordPress accepting a message does not guarantee delivery.

Is the free version actually usable, or is Pro required?

The free version is a complete booking system: unlimited services, staff, and appointments, with email notices and double-booking protection. Pro is optional. Free features remain free.

What does StudioSlot Pro include?

The separate Pro add-on includes individual staff hours, breaks and date exceptions; private appointment notes for administrators; and optional email appointment reminders. It costs $79/year for one active WordPress site and renews annually until cancelled. Pro requires WordPress 6.4+ and PHP 7.4+; the order includes a compatible Free companion plugin, setup guide and license.
Optional SMS uses your own Twilio account and registered sender, with provider fees billed to you separately. Sending stays off until you configure it. The integration has simulated-provider test coverage; verify real delivery and opt-out handling with your own account before using it with clients. SlotWorks does not provide hosted SMS. Assisted migration is limited to a reviewed rehearsal on a protected copy; payments, deposits, calendar sync and a public self-service importer are not included.

How many people can book the same time?

They cannot. StudioSlot checks the slot when it is shown and again when it is saved. A taken time is not offered to someone else.
