A happy accident + curiosity = discovery, at least for Eva Andrei's team @RutgersU in 2009. They found that 2D materials stacked with a twist resulted in new properties, creating the field of "twistronics" and earning Andrei a @KavliPrize in nanoscience: energy.gov/science/articl…
