Let me give a simple way to split the mathematics/physics communities now wrestling with AI.
If top people (medalists) representing the math/physics community are telling you that seeing our students thrive is of paramount importance, they are *provably* in denial or delusional.
Did you not see "Fields Medal" l after the names of the many signees? That counts for something. I would say they have absolutely won the right to speak out in representation of a large majority of the mathematics community.
I'll start: who is part of this so-called 'Mathematical Community'?
