yeah, i'd much prefer a thicker laptop w/better keys and more ports
i care about weight not thinness, which we have been chasing for purely (bad) aesthetic reasons (phones, same)
Exactly this! There are some reasons why thicker laptops make sense, least of which is better cooling, no thermal throttling, and larger/quieter fans. Oh and better hinge design and durability too.
