The amount of astroturfing in the SQL/PostgreSQL and agents subreddits by the bricks company is insane. I was able to find the real identities of a few anon accounts out of around 10 that constantly ask questions and shove solutions on Reddit. They are engineers, and their job

Regexes in Rust debug builds can be 10-20x slower. It does not make sense to profile debug builds.

It did not occur to me how bad image search has become on search engines that don't filter AI-generated images. On DuckDuckGo, up to 70% of images are generated by AI. It's way better on Google, since there is SynthID that filters a lot of them.

Detecting malicious packages on PyPI is pretty fun. There are around 5000 published packages per day, some of which are malicious. Every day there is at least a few malicious packages.
