Tbh, as there's spatialOS .. *cough* I mean.. visionOS already, I'd like to try to bridge Windows+Linux applications in there as well, similar to @matthaeus magnificent VR-OS concept ⌨️🖱️🙂🥽
lol just a proof of concept but
each red speaker is playing the same C tone, pitched only by movement relative to the camera
audio is a bit glitchy bc i don't think blender really maintains this feature in a serious way. reverb & compression added in post

The idea of working like this is refreshingly exciting. Imagine your local terrain with a synced day-night cycle. Then, you hear a plane or chopper outside, look up and actually see it in VR, f.e. via smth like a @flightradar24 plugin. Still so much more potential. #xrOS
I'm inreasingly into this thing as a personal project, so here's a first glimpse of a rather early proof-of-concept (not to call it a prototype). Without higher-res HMDs this is still kinda nonsense, but, it's time might come. #xrOS cc: @matthaeus
Remember @JohnnyChungLee's "Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote" from 2007?
Below's my attempt from 2020, using a Kinect. 🤓
