Home

I got home Thursday afternoon. I have been sleeping and then staying up in my chair and going outside to feel some sun and get a little fresh air. I cannot lift, bend or do other things for the extended healing period. I have learned to put on underpants using a grabber and only making simple meals or eating the soup made for me by a friend. There is a long recovery ahead and the pathology report on the removed lymph nodes is yet to come. The results determine if future treatment is necessary. I see the surgeon again at the end of the month.

Mercy is being loved on at the vet. I am grateful for that. Thanks for all of your kind thoughts and interest. All are appreciated.

I'm so happy to hear from you. I've been all on edge wondering and not wanting to bother you! The grabber method of dressing was so useful to me after the hip, when I couldn't do any of the moves you need, to dress. I'm glad you have soup, always helpful. And that Mercy is still cared for, though I expect you're missing her. Get well and strong soon. It does take a while.

So glad you've posted with this update - take good care of yourself. Recovery may seem endless at times but it will pass eventually. Rest, eat well, do all the things you already know to do. Thinking of you.

So happy to know you are home safe and sound and have a plan to nourish yourself and get outside into the sunlight. It must help settle your heart to know Mercy is doing well.

So relieved to read this, e, I've been absent from Blogland for a while with my own small issues. Glad you are managing and eating some good soups. Surgery can be painful and limiting physically but it sounds like you are coping well and Mercy looks great.
