ExpressionEngine on Azure App Service
How Do I?
We have a client currently hosting an ExpressionEngine site on Azure VMs and are evaluating a move to Azure App Service. Has anyone here hosted an EE site on App Service and have you run into any roadblocks we should keep an eye out for?

ChatGPT will be an immense help. I relied on it heavily to get the site working.
In my case, I use the Azure portal and the web-based ssh client for standard Linux operations. I think I created the mysql database from the shell because I didn’t want to spend the time getting something like PhpMyadmin working.
From my IDE, PhpStorm, I use FTPS to upload files. (That is, not sftp)
Outgoing email can be tricky, though, as Azure doesn’t have native SMTP if I’m not mistaken.
When I first came to the U.S., I thought proxies were only for tech specialists, but in practice, they’re used much more widely. For example, in marketing, analytics, and website testing. I started with simple tasks https://floppydata.com/ and gradually realized where they help save time. The most important thing is not to overwhelm yourself with settings and to try the basic version to understand how it works. Then it becomes clear that it’s a pretty handy tool.
