Happy Easter

Image

If you´re exhausted from your Easter-hunt we advise to go to BIG W cause they have...

Image

I did resist and so did Ingo... It was but March after all and we were in Madeley/Perth.
Here suddenly Spring arrived - if without sun, but it was 18C / 64F!

May I Cuddle You?

Image

Let´s do a time warp again to March and go back to where our Monday host, Sami,  took me to join Eileen:

Image

 Well...

Image

I met one in 2013 but with different friends, see here.
Reckon Sami was in Adelaide at the time being on FIFO (Fly In Fly Out)?

Either way, 2013... 2024! Time RUNS!!!

Image

We stood in line.
Ummm, no, I´m lying. Sami stood in line and I sat on a bench with my from a spider-bite swollen foot and leg, LOL.

Let me assure you the doc Sami brought me to later said he understands I did not let that bite destroy my meeting with Sami!!! After all... despite Sami and family visited Braunschweig it was thanks due to COVID  five whopping years we visited!!!

So when Sami was near the entrance I sneaked in - and as peeps saw I have a problem it was no problem :-)

And here,...

Image

Really, if you ever have the chance... gently touch a Koala, it feels.. oily, yet soft...
And Lindsay was very calm and gentle - unlike the one from 2013, who was VERY stressed - the park has a much better concept now - it was a joy!

Thank you, Sami - and @Ingo: you lost out BIG!

FFO and Smiles

Image

So, that´s how your Easter-eggs get their color - and with this diligent bunny I join Nicole´s FFO, wishing you a happy Easter!

And I bet you find a smile for the lille helper, too, with whom I join Annie´s Smiles:

Image

Do you do something special over Easter?
I plan to clean up and be laaaaaazy otherwise!
Weather likely crappy, so we need some funnies, right?

But first, I want to give you another smile - I think I saw before, but it´s still good to show again there are people you can rely on!

 Nisal Rathnayake explains on FB:
"In 1968, the author received the Pulitzer Prize for this photograph - one of the most prestigious awards in the United States, which is awarded for achievements in music, cinema, theater and journalism.
The picture shows two electricians, Randall Champion and Jay Thompson, hanging from a power pole. That day there was a strong heat and nothing foreshadowed trouble. The hum of air conditioners in July 1967 was heard throughout the state of Florida. Because of them, in the city of Jacksonville, there was an overload of power lines, and this caused a power surge.
Randall and Jay were doing routine maintenance on a live line when Randall accidentally touched one of the wires. A discharge of 4000 V passed through the body and his heart stopped. For understanding: during the execution in the electric chair, a voltage of 2000 V is used
Randall's lifeless body hung from the harness. But his partner Jay did not lose his head, realizing that every second is precious, he began to give him artificial respiration right on the pole. It was very inconvenient, but there was no other way out. In such a situation, it is difficult to conduct a normal resuscitation, but Jay still tried to start his friend's heart until he had a weak pulse.
Only after that he unhooked his partner's insurance and, throwing him over his shoulder, went down to the ground. By the time the rescuers arrived (they were called by professional photographer Rocco Morabito, who happened to be at the scene), Champion was already conscious on the ground.
Not only was he saved, thanks to Thompson, but he lived another 35 years. The electrician died in 2003 at the age of 64.
Thompson is alive today."

Now to the fun part 😊

For those of you who still "suffer"...

I remember one Easter we built an Easter-bunny...

Hope you have one, too, and can enjoy!
In clubs and discos it is forbidden here to dance and in some federal states there is a fine from €1000 - €10 000.
I think this is not right. There are many religions and many who don´t believe, so why forbid dancing in public places.
Let those who want to go to church and remember in silence do and let those who wanna celebrate a long weekend, do.
My two cents...

Better Think Twice!

Image

"Better" pic of the train station come Monday.
On Feb 13th we went to Freo
This was not our "goal"...

Image

We were in for a gaol...

Image

Image

We did twice a tour there, two different tour guides, two different stories.
I was thinking about doing the night-tour, but after last time I nearly passed out in the room were prisoners were hung I decided against this.
Nightmares would be a program.

The "True Crime Tour" is new.
You do not learn about how the prisoners "suffered", but why!
On came a large group of loud, chatty Japanese peeps - oh, nooooo....

Image

Luckily they did the usual tour and it turned out we were quite a very small group:

Image

The man was born in Perth but they came from America.
Beats me - just like with the Indian Pacific: Why do people pay money for things they are not really interested in?
These two were looking so bored, it was a pain.

Image

This tour was about... how, why did the prisoners end up here.

Image

 The guide told the facts...

Image

As the other two were so bored he was rather fixed on me and after a while asked if I need a break...
Ingo said I looked horrible.
And how not.

True stories like... a 19 year old man on a hot summer´s night sticking his head out of the window of his house to get some fresh air... shot in the head. The murderer that night randomly shot three other people he did not even know, either - just for the fun of it. Sick.
And at one point I did feel sick!

Image

They sure did deserve to suffer and die like this, alone, in a prison.
I think this was the last time I visited. See here for an earlier visit, if you like.

No, guys, you just guarded evil...
Same with you when / if you visit such places?
I get sick cause I cannot understand how ... why. And yet it never stops. Just look at the massacre in the theater in Russia the other week... or all those wars.

Perth was a rather small city, as Freo, too, and yet, that prison was full to the brim.

Eat Good, Do Good

Image

As you can imagine I miss Perth and Grill´d immensly.
What is so special about Grill´d, you wonder?
For one it is yummy, but there is more!

Wiki says: "Grill'd launched its Local Matters program where each customer is provided a token per burger to vote for 1 of 3 restaurant-specific local community groups. At the end of each month, $500 per restaurant is donated among the three community groups, totalling over $750,000 each year in donations. As of September 2021, Grill'd have given over $6 million to over 30,000 local community groups, organisations, and projects..."

That is not true. Ingo and I always share a burger....

Image

...and we get a token each!!!
The burger looks small here - bad perspective, it is quite big!

Image

"... all of the company's beef and lamb is grass-fed and free-range, and in 2016 all of their chicken became RSPCA Approved. In 2019 Grill'd launched Beyond Meat's plant-based meat-tasting pattie with a "Meat Free Day". In November 2021, Grill'd launched the Impossible Foods plant-based meat-tasting burgers."

Image

Sadly from Germany I cannot reach their website, maybe you can and find out more... then visit them in person, do good and eat very well!

Image

This certainly is for Tom´s Signs2.

T Stands For A Good Week

Image

 My drink for Elizabeth´s T (and work-brekkie).

And the journal...

Image

Monday: Nuggets. I started my day with Nuggets. Sadly not Chicken McNuggets but nuggets of Compliance. Every two years you get lectured on this. Like in kindy! They call each lesson a "nugget". Fancy.

Image

Tuesday: ESE-Academy sent me 4 more yearly trainings, oh, gah!!! Admind mT said he´s 40 days behind already and does not care, LOL,
Teamlead said she´s afraid cause so many projects (mine also) are on hold.
Ex-teamleader T said not to worry, as did mT. Hm.

Image

Wednesday: Yearly "trainings", ohhhh, soooo boring.
ESE is certified so we have to repeat some yearly, some every 2 years.
I am with them two years!!!! Time runs.
Wish me LUCK projects keep coming - they carry me along since September!

Bro WhatsApp´d pics, they wandered to the Brocken - ack! Twice! Double-ack!
I went there once with my former company cgs.
I hate mountains, but they had fun 😀
Other I hear nothing.

Image

Thursday: Ingo was so kind to drive me to Hanover for a minor operation (nothing serious).
I hate hospitals, but we must be thankful we have them.... right. This one was good you can read more here, if you like.
Luck hit me big with my heart (failure?)!

Image

Friday: I was home by 10:00 a.m. as my doc lives in Braunschweig also and simply drove me home. Like in front of my door! Quiet day.

Image

Weekend: Saturday:  Ingo... well, it´s Ingo, right?
He brought love & Spring and gave me the BIGGEST SMILE all day (weekend, week, another bouquet of flowers that has to travel from private to workplace and back every working day!):

Image

With Gerbera, one of my very fav flowers!

06:40 p.m. - a bird is chirping!!! Spring is REALLY here (despite the cold weather).
Other I´m into carpet waving. Got it in Madeley/Perth, cool 70´s style!

Image

Image

Sunday: The carpet is finished!
This is for kids ages 6+.
Ingo said, after 10 minutes max a six-y-o would throw it in the corner - I made it!

Image

So COOL, huh, peace, peeps!

Food-wise:

Image

Three-minute noodles, cooked, drained. Cut green olives in slices, mozzarella, small quarters, mix the latter with dried  basil and oregano.
Throw the noodles in a pan with a bit of oil add pepper, also basil, oregano, add the olives, fry till a bit brown, add mozzarella till it´s gooey and enjoy.
