We are workers in the tech industry seeding climate action at work and beyond
At ClimateAction.tech we meet, discuss, learn and take climate action together
Our focus areas
The internet is the world’s largest machine. If we continue business-as-usual, the IT sector will be responsible for 14% of the world’s carbon emissions by 2040 [HBR, 2020]. From our community conversations, these subjects have emerged as levers for changing our industry:
Build sustainable software
Anyone building tech can make decisions which reduce the environmental impacts of their software
Demand sustainable hardware & infrastructure
We can shift the industry with our data center choices (where we host our software), how long we use hardware for, and local action in our area
Change business culture & behavior
We can push our companies and industry to prioritize climate issues and embed sustainability into the day-to-day work of all employees
