Abú is a one-day outdoor music festival running from 1pm to 11pm on Saturday 11th July, 2026. The event was developed and built by members of the young and vibrant indie music scene in Longford. This year, the walled garden behind Skelly’s Bar in Ballymahon, Co. Longford, N39 C8P8 becomes the collision point for young bands from across the Midlands and beyond—Longford, Boyle, Cavan, Athlone, Galway and Dublin.

What's It All Abú
This committee of six young Longford musicians got sick of waiting around for permission. Wanting to perform to bigger audiences and foster relationships with other like-minded performers, we set out to generate a showcase for emerging talent, and offer a suitable space for young music fans. We know our audience from playing live gigs over the last few years and we wanted to offer entry for ages 15+.
We are supported by County Longford Arts Service, with funding and mentoring. The venue comes with the support and permission of Pat Byrne, owner of Skelly’s.

There Will Be Merch!
Bring your pocket money, coz we will have T-shirts and badges for sale at a really reasonable price, and featuring ABÚ artwork by our very own committee artist Florence Brunt. The limited edition T-shirts will be available in varied sizes with band names on the reverse. It’s another way to further support our event and they make for a perfect keepsake or gift!
