But that does not cancels the fact that i will move to another vps provider.
They redesigned their customers service page at least thrice the last months and are forcing ai on every settings (toggling a radio button and filling a textfield in is too hard, ask our chatbot to do it for you)

I have set up a vpn on my vps hosted at vultr, and made all my laptop's http traffic be tunneled through there.

Then, i noticed that when i log in vultr's account from the vps, i did not have to perform the humiliation ritual of identifying traffic lights in captcha!

I'm already accessing through an address in vultr's ip range, so they can obviously know a client of theirs is logging in, and they made it an exception, it seems.

Modern UI is amazing.

Some configs are so important they should be listed twice.

Btw, what's the name of this gray tape tying the heatsink and the fan? I had to remove it to relubricate the fan, but it got deformed while plucking.

I cannot use regular tape or isolation tape, because the heat softens the tape and make it lose stickness.

My last #thinkpad #t430 mod:
I installed a Toshiba heatsink+fan from the T430 model with dedicated GPU (dGPU). The heatsink features an extra dissipation pipe for the GPU.

But my T430 has an integrated GPU (iGPU), not dGPU. And its original heatsink had a single dissipation pipe, for the CPU only.

Even on iGPU models, the extra pipe helps in dissipating heat. I then wrapped copper tape between both pipes for more heat dissipation. Also i put some lubrication oil for sewing machine for smooth spins.

Getting 45°~55°C when idle, and 60°~70°C when playing. Previously, on the single pipe heatsink, i used to get 50°~60° and 85°~95° ranges, respectively.

Well, it works. But not for me.

What i had in mind when i thought i could get used to a hidpi display while using #windowmaker #dockapps and a bitmap font?
It turned out to be easier to get back to a lower resolution display than to unrice my desktop and get used to a new one.

So i reinstalled the original 1600x900 display; and am selling the new one.

If anyone wants to buy a 2560x1440 matte display with the eDP to LVDS converter for #thinkpad #T430 (also works on T420, T430s and T420s), i am selling this one WITH* the adapted top lid cover (i had to sand down some nubs for the display to fit), so you do not need to diassemble it all and adapt; AND with the webcam and LED boards (because they are screwed into the lid).

I'm selling the lid with all stickers i had in it: only one. A single faux-leather dog-nose-like vinyl adhesive covering it entirelly (for a bonus business laptop look).

*if you do not have a T430 or do not want the lid or do not want to pay more for the lid and webcam/led boards, i can sell only the display and the converter.

Preferably to brazil or mercusur for easy (for me) shipping.

Note for seninha from the future: before reassembling your puter, check if there's any cable between the screw-holes of the bottom cover and the palm-rest/keyboard.
