Talent &
Young Board

“Our business is solely about talent. It’s 75% of our costs and 100% of our value,” says Christian de la Villehuchet, Global Chief Client & Integration Officer at Havas and President of EACA.

Addressing the Industry’s Talent Challenge

Talent is on everyone’s lips, from big holding groups to National Associations. The sector is facing a growing talent challenge, both in attracting new people and retaining existing employees. Younger generations are bringing new expectations around work, with the pandemic accelerating shifts towards greater flexibility, new ways of working, and a stronger focus on work-life balance. At the same time, many professionals are looking beyond the industry for new opportunities: studies indicate that 1 in 7 advertising professionals will likely leave the sector altogether.

The talent topic unites several of EACA’s key work streams. This includes our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and making the industry more welcoming and accessible for everyone; edcom, our network of universities across Europe; and the work of National Associations to strengthen the reputation and attractiveness of the communications sector. Through our partnerships with like-minded organisations and associations, EACA works to identify challenges, share best practices, and help build a stronger, more sustainable talent pipeline for the future.
