Fallout: New Vegas Dev Working on New Fallout Game at Obsidian - IGN Daily Fix

1 month, 2 weeks - In today's Daily Fix:Obsidian is reportedly ditching Avowed 2 to work on a new Fallout game. As part of Xbox's big reset, developer Josh Sawyer, who worked as lead designer on fan favorite Fallout: New Vegas, will head a team at Obsidian focused on the next Fallout. The last mainline game, Fallout 4, was released in 2015. However, Bethesda has released the MMO Fallout 76 and helped produce the acclaimed Fallout TV series for Prime Video. In related news, id Software was not spared in the big Xbox reset, with more than half of its full-time staff laid off. The developer was reportedly working on pitches for a new Perfect Dark game, among others. The team had also recently released the well-received Doom: The Dark Ages. And finally, morale at Bethesda is shattered in the wake of Xbox's recent mass layoffs, with the remaining developers saying it will have a "substantial and cascading effect" on The Elder Scrolls 6.

Resident Evil Requiem Looks Ready to Cook – Unlocked 727

6 months, 3 weeks - Two big topics dominate our Xbox show this week: first, Resident Evil Requiem. Our own Michael Higham got to play a few hours of a near-final build, and he came back super excited about what will probably be the biggest game in the first quarter of 2026. And then we discussed AMD's CEO publicly stating that they'd be ready to support a next-gen Xbox launch in 2027, including whether or not we think the next Xbox will beat the PlayStation 6 to market, whether that even matters, and what Microsoft could do to try and get core gamers excited about what promises to be a very different type of console. 00:00:00 - Intro & Resident Evil Requiem 00:18:29 - Next-gen Xbox launch in 2027? 00:48:32 - No Plans For The Outher Worlds 3 01:03:04 - New to Game Pass & Outro #xbox #gaming #residentevil

Nintendo Stays Silent on Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Sales - IGN Daily Fix

6 months, 3 weeks - In today's Daily Fix:Nintendo's latest financial results show a mixed bag of results for the Switch 2. Kirby Air Riders, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Mario Kart World are selling in the millions, but notably missing is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The game was not listed in either the Switch or Switch 2 million-seller lists, however it's possible that combined sales across Switch platforms could total one million or more. The game had a rocky development history, being delayed several years and changing dev teams. In other sales news, Obsidian's The Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed did not meet sales expectations, and the company has announced they don't have any plans for The Outer Worlds 3 (but will continue exploring the world of Eora, the setting for Avowed and Pillars of Eternity). And finally, February's Game Pass line up has been revealed, with High on Life landing day one on the service.
