Cracking the Code of College Student Conduct

Cracking the Code of College Student Conduct

Come for the student conduct.
Stay for the chemistry.

Come for the student conduct.
Stay for the chemistry.

The Ms. Behavior Podcast is hosted by Colette Shaw and Kurt Doan, both former college deans with knowledge and wisdom gleaned from first-hand experience managing complex university disciplinary processes. Episodes explore the complexities of students' lives, the ever-changing landscape of higher education, creative approaches to conflict, and the lives of the people who do this intellectually and emotionally rigorous work.

Student discipline is one of the most challenging areas of college administration, but any true conduct nerd will tell you there's nowhere else they'd rather be. For all you wonderful souls, we welcome you to Ms. Behavior and ask you to join us on social media where we can share trends, dilemmas, celebrations and laughter as a community.

“Ms. Behavior is great! I think there is incredible food for thought in what is shared. My two recent favorites were:

  1. Authority and gender; the impact of gender on hearing officers and female identifying staff in accountability roles; and

  2. Student Affairs as a cult (this right here is where I am starting some research work!)

Anyway, loved it!”

“Ms. Behavior, You AMAZE me. Your interview with the fraternity president....wow. That did not end like I thought it would. You DO make magic with fraternity restorative circles. How freaking cool. Your open convo reminded me of my best dissertation interviews. I also read the news stories about the fraternity leaving (and returning) and LOVED the quotes about how "the group hasn't just changed, we have changed" as in we the staff. What an amazing thing”
