    A UK Prime Minister cannot simply take the Good Friday Agreement’s border poll mechanism “off the table”. If it appears likely to the Secretary of State that a majority in the North would vote for a united Ireland, the law says they must call a poll. That’s the legal position.

    Gardaí have recovered 36 laptops and 40 mobile phones during a search of a business premises in Dublin City Centre. The operation followed an investigation launched after a stolen phone was traced to the premises in July. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing
