Truly honored to earn my wings today at the U.S. Army Airborne School at Fort Benning.
Standing on the hallowed ground of that drop zone, where some of the men I look up to most earned their wings and landed before me, was an honor.

In my time in the Marine Corps, I started with the M16 and served through the M16A3. Back then, we used iron sights. On the range, we used smudge pots to blacken our sights and cut down the glare from the sun.

Bleier was drafted into the U.S. Army after his rookie NFL season and was shot in the leg and injured by grenade fragments while serving in Vietnam in 1969.
