    Round 2 of 2026 Victorian Champs will be on 5 Sept. Next weekend sees a big weekender, 2026 Best in the West, hosted by Hobsons Bay Chess Club. Best wishes to all players in the Best in the West. Pop in and spectate if near the Finnish Hall (119 Pier St, Altona) next weekend.

    Well done to all the prize winners in the 2026 Malitis Memorials which ended last night. Particularly noteworthy was the performance of Haran Salasan who went undefeated and won the Major Division with 6.5 points. All results here - shorturl.at/JLhy4
