We’re delivering a £7m programme of rail upgrades between Newcastle and Scotland from 19 September.
Over three weekends, engineers will renew track, improve drainage and upgrade overhead line equipment to help improve journeys.

- We’re really sorry to passengers for the disruption yesterday (Sunday 16 August) caused by damage to the overhead line equipment on the East Coast Main Line near Biggleswade. 1/6
- With high temperatures expected this afternoon, our teams are working closely with train operators to keep passengers moving safely.
- Passengers travelling over the August bank holiday weekend are advised to plan ahead. Testing for the £1.4bn @_ECDP project will affect journeys south of Peterborough towards London, with some replacement buses in operation. ⬇️ More details
