25 years ago today, Internet Explorer 6 released. Windows XP, MSN Messenger, Flash websites, that blue “e” on the desktop… this was basically the front door to the internet for an entire generation. The early 2000s web was something else.

A cool piece of Sega history: The Lost World: Jurassic Park released on August 26, 1997 and became the final licensed Game Gear game released in North America. The Game Gear era basically ended with Jurassic Park. Anyone still have their original Game Gear?

23 years ago today, TRON 2.0 released on PC. This one just feels like 2003. CD-ROM case, CRT monitor, neon graphics, downloadable demos and a game that looked unlike almost anything else at the time.

24 years ago today, Super Mario Sunshine released on the Nintendo GameCube. Isle Delfino, FLUDD, those tiny GameCube discs… Still one of the most unique Mario games Nintendo ever made.
