Kinda chic to confront residential school denialism.
Truth Before Reconciliation, edited by myself and @Niigaanwewidam with essays by expert contributors, is out September 9, wherever you buy books: uofmpress.ca/books/truth-be…
Pretty funny (mostly sad and predictable) to see Marc Emery transition from the Prince of Pot to the Prince of Prejudice. Like, are you high? I guess we already know the answer!
Here's the full episode of @Niigaanwewidam and I on CBC's Front Burner talking about what's fuelling residential school denialism and what we can do about it:
"Claims by Israel’s supporters that they support 'balanced history' disguise their true intentions. They are simply opposed to recognizing Palestinian history."
The backlash against the Nakba exhibition at Canada's national human rights museum exposes an enduring effort to silence Palestinian voices—and erase Palestinian history. canadiandimension.com/articles/view/…
Pretty funny way of admitting that, for conservatives, Canada Day *is* about unapologetically celebrating colonialism and the oppression of Indigenous Peoples. That's a losing strategy, as the majority of Canadians support reconciliation and building a more honourable future.
