Testers are still being told to ‘try to break’ an application, as though that’s a key objective of testing. The application is already broken, what we’re doing by testing it is showing you where. #testing #applications

At WebDepend, we don't go in for all that 'Tester vs Developer' rubbish. We collaborate with developers, discuss our findings and be receptive to possible test ideas. # developers

A person whose primary role is testing will almost always find more bugs than someone whose primary role is not testing, such as a designer, developer, engineer, product manager or project manager. Those people will certainly find bugs, just not as many as a tester will find.

Testers don't break software, the broken parts are already there. Testers discover where and how the software breaks and then show their findings so those parts can be fixed. Some bugs are harder to pinpoint than others, we investigate, discuss and pair up with devs to resolve.

When we test something, we're not just testing the code and we're not just looking for developer mistakes - we're testing everything - all the input from everyone involved that shaped the project to this point. #testing #websitetesting #apptesting #qatesting
