    That's exactly why graph-relational is a (small) extension of the relational model, not a replacement. Likewise, EdgeQL is SQL++, and not an entirely unrelated language conceptually. BTW, EdgeDB supports SQL also (in read-only mode for now).

    EdgeDB is great but all companies who said their API will replace the old dying SQL realized their mistake. DB implementation evolves but Relational and SQL are still there. I compare that to maths and physics. Physics explores new spaces but still based on same math abstraction
