If perfect mechanics were enough… they wouldn’t disappear in games. So why does a player look great in lessons, but stiff and inconsistent under pressure in the game? Let’s break it down🧵 1/9

This one thing I would have done when I was in Pro-ball.. Ask pitchers on my team how they would get me out.. Pitchers, Ask hitters how they would attack your stiff It’s a whole different game from each side of the ball!

If there’s ONE thing every player should improve this fall… It’s their ability to MOVE. Not just get stronger. Not just get more reps. Increase MOVEMENT CAPACITY. Here’s why that may be the future of player development 🧵👇

Most training isolates one plane of motion — frontal, sagittal, transverse. But the body doesn’t move that way. It spirals through all three at once. That’s why isolated-plane drills transfer poorly to a baseball field, where nothing happens in a straight line. Movement First.

My JUCO coach showed me a couple of keys to stealing a steal when the defense is distracted 1. After an error 2. After a walk 3. After a pitch 4. Observe patterns of when fielders look down or lose focus Any more? Great Heads up play by Contreras…

Acuña was looking to take advantage of Contreras' high-arcing throws back to the pitcher. He was ready for it.
