    there is a large gap from "programming language types with conservative/simple syntax to cover 60-70% common" and "zomg exotic higher order type syntax that's turing complete and I ported Doom to it". why don't devs see the former is useful and the latter is mental illness?

    because if they can track that the words came from a specific AI they can just as easily start tracking that the words came from an individual -- just like printer dots violate our privacy. is this really that hard to imagine?

    I absolutely feel strongly and positively about dynamic types. they're important and wildly underrated. moreover, a type system can and should work in both ways.

    so many people make strong typing part of their identity while nobody feels so strongly about dynamic types that's because types are a beautiful discipline on their own, regardless of practical applications nobody does python for its intrinsic beauty

    I presently have two different amazon deliveries "out for delivery" to me... and both are where it shows the driver and location and how many stops. been watching them "race" toward me for the last hour and 10+ stops. I'm "next stop" for both. exciting stuff. like a video game.

    fucking @gmail ending the "Send As" feature for personal accounts (Jan 2027)... this literally is such a deal breaker I may be leaving gmail entirely. gdi.
