The US carceral system is a horror show, but socialist electeds like Zohran Mamdani and the Left as a whole have found out the hard way that rhetoric about abolishing the police and prisons isn't the way forward. Paul Heideman proposals a different way: jacobin.com/2026/08/carcer…

More frequent Muni service is coming to the 1-California, N-Judah, and 5R-Fulton Rapid during peak service times. Starting August 29, this additional service will help Muni run more smoothly and get San Franciscans where they need to go, easier. A safe and reliable Muni is vital

1/6 At the July NPC meeting Red Star fought to add abolition to DSA’s program bc we believe it’s a core socialist demand. Abolishing policing & prisons as instruments of capitalist rule is fundamental to Marxism.

Socialism needs a Scientology-level brick and mortar infrastructure. We should be able to take people in off the street and mobilize them immediately based on their needs and interests. Socialism being exclusively online has created a very limited demographic social base for DSA.
