    An undergrad asked me today whether researchers and profs actually understand papers when they read them without AI. He was genuinely surprised (he had tried& couldn't) that some people just read papers directly, without a LLM intermediary. I was a bit shocked by his question😅

    If Anthropic made "Let me check rather than answer from memory" a single token, global token usage would be cut in half. Easily.

    Because the settlement is spread out over 10 years, Meta will only pay roughly $1.17 billion per year for the unconditional portion. In contrast, Reality Labs burns through that exact same amount of cash every 24 days. Thank you for the perspective @headinthebox.
