    Why do people believe crazy stuff? It's because they fall for “fallacies”, we're told. Memorize the classics (ad hominem, post hoc, straw man) and you’ll be inoculated against error. It's a neat little story, and I used to believe it too. But I've become a fallacy apostate. 🧵/1

    Wait, what? If I am to believe Ambassador @BillWhiteUSA, he has negotiated an “amicable agreement” between @ugent and @nathancofnas behind the scenes, lifting the suspension and allowing Cofnas to complete the full term of his appointment. It seems his email access has indeed

    After speaking with all parties, I am pleased to see that Ghent University and Nathan Cofnas have amicably reached an agreement to lift Mr. Cofnas' suspension, which will enable him to complete his one-year postdoctoral appointment. I look forward to working with Ghent University
