Shutting down US oil exports except to key allies (Japan etc.) and telling Europe and India to go get their own damn oil was always an option. It's not one we took but don't for a *second* believe we couldn't have.

As a Michigander, Canada is a place I can reach in two hours of driving. Its on the other side of a very passable bridge. My parents used to drive there to do Christmas shopping. I know Canadians on the internet and IRL. And seeing my friends talking about the madness ravaging
