Was surprised it was given TBH. Foul before was 50/50. The interesting point is the potential foul throw for the lead up to the penalty decision. VAR can’t get involved with fouls throws even if a goal is scored from a foul throw restart or like this a penalty comes from a foul

Thoughts on the pen? Yeah he clips his foot with his arm but when do you see them given once they have had the shot? And even worse the clear foul throw before it?

Incorrect. Because a throw-in is a method of restarting play (a restart), it is treated differently.

Yes it can! This isn't a review of the decision to award the throw in, something that VAR can't review, it is an offence committed in the action of taking the throw & that is within the scope of the VAR protocol to review any attacking offences in the lead up to an incident.

VAR can’t get involved with foul throws. I wish they could but it’s not in the VAR protocol.

So the penalty was a foul throw. Missed by VAR

Going on my experience doing fourth official, if they are a few subs at once, it can take time to get the info on the electronic subs board. If the team have only just done the cards, then play stops, it can look disjointed so it’s probably a bit of both. They have used two subs

@refsupportuk quick question. Before the forest 2nd goal looked like over 1 maybe 2 minutes Liverpool tried making a triple sub. But the boards weren’t ready So they didn’t go ahead who’s responsible for them being ready?

I’d like to see some retrospective action from @FA & @EFL for Boro players successfully deceiving the match officials. Pathetic. Also, @refsupportuk anything to say?
