Creating Spaces Where Everyone Belongs.
People with disabilities and allies—experience coffee, CommUNITY, and lifelong learning at B3.
Being, Belonging & Becoming.
B3 is a nonprofit that brings people with and without disabilities together through social, educational, and vocational programs. We create spaces of belonging that advance disability justice, allyship, and inclusion.
What Our Community Says.
The disability allyship trainings offered by B3 were eye-opening and examined topics I have never heard about before. Discussions about topics such as ableism have helped me reflect on my own bias while also allowing me the opportunity to learn and make changes.

A great group and a fabulous [life skills] program. Thanks to all instructors for the thoughtful curriculum, kind support, role plays, activities, and advocacy language!
– B3 care partner, Kim
Because of B3, our loved ones are more visible, more appreciated, and most importantly, less isolated and living better lives. How do I express how much that means as a mother?
– B3 Care Partner, Denise
I finally feel like I have a place to be myself”
– B3 member, Adele
I’ve gained valuable allyship skills to better support the disabled community, learning to foster inclusivity and collaborate for meaningful social change.
– B3 member, Grace
B3 has given me a voice. B3 has given me the career I want to follow, public speaking. B3 has prepared me for any job, including a coffee shop. B3 has given me a community where people care about each other. B3 has given me transportation and cooking skills. I am so grateful.”

B3’s new Canva for Caregivers programs was a hit!
B3 members and their care parters collaborated on visuals to support their daily living needs. From leisure choice boards to visual recipes to routine checklists, we got creative and learned about the power of visuals for making everyday life more accessible and empowering.

A glimpse into B3 Life Skills programs this week! 😍
One of our members’ favorite learning activities is role play! Through simulated real-world scenarios, members practice using their “safety powers” (strategies for navigating everyday situations) in a supportive environment. And of course, there are plenty of laughs and bloopers along the way! 😂
Learning, growing, and building confidence together✨

In today’s Living Your Best Life program, B3 members practiced calculating tips using apps! Then we put our skills into action with a trip to @supdogs for snacks 🙌🌭

Friday vibes at B3 are unmatched! 🔥
We kicked off the day with a lesson in social planning, followed by putting those skills into practice! Members teamed up around shared interests to plan outings to Starbucks, game time, jewelry making, and basketball. 🏀💎
Then it was time for Clubhouse hours! At members’ request, we baked snickerdoodle cookies 😋 and kept the fun going with indoor games and Hocus Pocus.
A Friday full of connection, choice, creativity, and community! 💛

It’s happening 🥹✨
Today, our members had the chance to visit their future Clubhouse, and seeing them at the new space made it all feel a little more real. 💙
Too often, disability-inclusive programs and community-building efforts have to make do with whatever space is available. We’re building something different: a space intentionally designed for people with and without disabilities to connect, share resources, build relationships, and belong together.
With street-facing windows and a visible presence in downtown Chapel Hill, our Clubhouse will also create opportunities for the broader community to learn about disability allyship, get involved in our mission, and build relationships across differences.
We’re not just creating a space for our members. We’re creating a place where belonging becomes part of the fabric of our community. 🏡✨
Help us bring this vision to life! Your support helps build a lasting home for connection, community, and disability inclusion in Chapel Hill.

Today’s adventure with B3’s Navigating Our Community program: a trip to Hargraves Park! 🙌
Members took @chtransit to get there and enjoyed a game of kickball together. On the way back, we passed by the new B3 Clubhouse, just a short walk from the park! 😍 We can’t wait to explore even more of our community together.

In B3’s Living Your Best Life program, members are learning about “Working Smarter Not Harder.” Members learned about different tools for daily living, including assistive technology and different times of household cleaning and maintenance tools. We even got to put the tools into practice and assemble some chairs for the new B3 Clubhouse!🛠️🧹

B3’s coffee kiosk at the Chapel Hill Public Library is more than just coffee. It’s community. ☕️💛
It’s visibility for disabled and neurodivergent people. It’s transitional employment, where people build skills and work experience in a supportive, community-based environment. It’s disability allyship training for UNC students pursuing human services professions— bringing inclusion to life beyond the classroom.
It’s where support groups meet, students study, neighbors connect, and small acts of kindness happen every day.
And you never quite know who you’ll encounter: a person with a disability, a parent, a student, a librarian, a neighbor, or someone who just needed a place to be.
People from all walks of life, sharing the same space.
That’s B3. 💛☕️ Open Thursday-Sunday at @chapelhillpubliclibrary

The B3 Clubhouse: where joy and connection are the priority 💛
When people are provided with space to be, belong, and become, beautiful things happen!
Just in this video, you’ll hear encouraging words in the background, folks exchanging resources, cheering each other on, and so much laughter.
This is what belonging sounds like. 🫶
A space where people can show up as they are, connect with others, share what they know, and be part of something bigger than themselves.
