What is Shader?

Shader is a desktop app for building WordPress sites and themes locally on your machine with AI assistance. The back-end data layer is provided by VX Framework Pro, while the agent creates the front-end around it based on your prompts.

Do I need to be a developer?

No. Shader can be used by everyone, from designers and web enthusiasts to developers. It handles the technical aspects of theme development so you can simply start prompting to build the site of your dreams.

What models can I use?

Shader works with the AI agents you already have installed on your machine. It has a dedicated integration with Claude Code inside the app.

Shader also provides a Terminal where you can call any agent available on your machine.

In addition to that, a Shader project can be opened in external apps such as VS Code, Codex, Claude and Cursor.

What kind of themes can I create?

You can create both Classic and Block themes. Pick the one you want when you create a theme.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. Every Shader site is built on VX Framework Pro, and you can try it free for 14 days, with no payment. When you create your first site in Shader, click Try VX Pro free for 14 days.

  • The 14 days start when you create your first site, not when you start the trial.
  • There's one trial per VX account, for sites on your own computer.
  • Deploy and Downloads aren't part of the trial. To put a site live, get a license on vxframework.com. Your theme and content are kept.
How do I deploy my theme after it’s finished?

Shader provides quick deployment options that connect a live site to your local site. From there you can:

  • Push your theme to the live site.
  • Push your content to the live site.
  • Pull content from the live site back to your local site.
How do I update Shader?

Automatic updates aren't available during the beta. When a new version comes out, download it from this page and install it over the one you have:

  • Mac: open the new download and replace Shader in your Applications folder.
  • Windows: run the new installer.

Your sites and themes stay where they are.
