Disability rights are civil rights. The Americans with Disabilities Act is a law that protects people with disabilities in many areas of public life to include their transportation.
TCAT aims to make sure all riders can get to where they need to go reliably, safely and conveniently.
For persons with disabilities, each TCAT bus is equipped:
- to safely secure riders with wheelchairs.
- with ramps and lifts for ease in boarding and exiting the bus.
For those whose disability prevents them from using TCAT:
TCAT contracts with Gadabout Transportation Services, Inc. to provide paratransit services.
