Code & Consequence

About Code & Consequence

Code & Consequence is a weekly publication about new technology and what it changes.

Every week brings a new model, a new device, a new platform that promises to change everything. Most coverage tells you what launched. We ask the next question: what does it actually do, who does it affect, and how would anyone know if it were wrong?

What we cover

Each issue takes one development in technology, from AI and software to hardware, infrastructure and the rules that govern them, and follows it past the press release. We look at the evidence, the incentives and the second-order effects: who wins, who pays, and what breaks when it ships too fast.

We write for readers who make decisions about technology at work and want analysis they can rely on, not hype they have to discount.

How it works

A new issue comes out every Monday. The current issue is always free to read on this site. Free subscribers get every new issue by email. Paid subscribers also get the full archive of past issues.

Who writes it

Code & Consequence is edited by Hank Mooney.
