  Opera for Windows Opera for Mac Opera for Linux Future releases Suggestions and feature requests

  The original Aria Extension version 6.12.0.8 is still on the Opera Add-Ons site, but hidden from Search, because it doesn't work any more.

  I am not sure if it was bundled in Opera Installer after Nov. 21, 2025 ...

  One of the other connection methods above should be better than trying to resurrect Aria.
  The 'ChatGPT for Chrome' extension seems to contain both ChatGPT and Codex, so looks like the most complete solution.

  That said, I don't see a way to select Codex, so that may need a subscription?
  Or you have to install Desktop ChatGPT app, switch it to Codex, then that app can control Opera as an MCP server?

  @Tei16
  Some of Aria functions can be done in ChatGPT (available in sidebar) or Claude through 'Browser Connector' ....
  Not trivial or rock-solid.
  I don't know why Opera AI cannot do as much.

  It might be possible to install an old version from the update file server, then block access to prevent future updates.

  Goto the URL opera://flags/#enable-jxl-image-format and enable "Enable JXL image format". Then, restart Opera.

  Once Opera is based on Chromium 155, that will be enabled by default.

  After opening website in text mode for reading, need text to audio reader to listen the page. As of today T2S android app helps me to achieve same but for that need to copy paste text from reading mode to that app. Want opera native feature.
  This will help me to reduce screen time a little.
